I've been on the hunt for sand dollars lately! Yesterday I found three! I was rather pleased. I have to say one of my favorite things is when you are walking on the beach and you see the flower on the sand dollar peaking through the sand like this..
I love it!! That always gets me excited. Heres another picture of a different sand dollar.. I just cant resist.

One of those sand dollars seems to be irregular or something.. it only had 4 petals on the flower! I thought that was really cool. Heres a closer look
Ok, moving on from the sand dollars.. Its been absolutely beautiful and warm and I couldnt ask for better shelling weather! Here is my beach! I like how this seagull flew all up in my picture.. and then proceeded to follow me around and creep me out.
I love when the sand gets like this.. its such a neat pattern

Have you ever been to Sanibel?? If not, I would HIGHLY recommend it!! Since I started following your site, I've been thinking of looking around at the beaches up here, (Hampton, VA) You have inspired me!! I love sand dollars too, and really don't know what there is around here...! I'll let you know when I have a chance to see!!

I have not been to Sanibel but it is definitely on my list after seeing the loot that people have coming out of there! I am from VA but have never actually really been to the beaches there.. only NC. I would be very interested to know what the shelling is like there! NC beaches have been very good to me but its diddly squat compared to Sanibel shelling! Keep me posted on what you find in VA!

I looove to shell.LOVE IT. I mostly go to topsail. I live in Raleigh. And I have been trying to talk the hubs into going down to wilmington but he is sure there is not much to do and not many shells. You have proved him wrong. You should post some stuff about Wilmington too. Anyway. Just wanted to tell you, I love your blog :)
